The Big Kids Way Team

From parents like you, to autism caregivers, to film and children’s television creators, to a group of kids who wanted to support families -- we all came together to help moms, dads, and children deal with difficult parenting situations!

The Big Kids Way Team is a vibrant mix -- Paul Carrier, an industry renowned animator with lead credits for a number of Netflix children’s shows; Sam Retzer, a film composer with Stomp the Yard and other major motion picture releases under his belt; Diggz, a former new media arts editor, music journalist, and Film Movement executive; Sam Jaspersohn, an art director and set designer with spreads in Kinfolk and other magazines; and the heart of Big Kids Way, Naz Ali, a former marketing executive at Nickelodeon.

Our team was rounded out with the support of our amazing cast, including a group of children who wanted to help other families, as well as the extensive efforts of our research partner, Elaina Horowitze, a primary caregiver for autistic children.

The Big Kids Way team’s top priority is to create characters and story lines that are fun, supportive, and inclusive. Our superhero Zavi Wavy proudly displays an Autism Puzzle Piece symbol on his costume and cape featuring his “Big Kid Tools”. Together, we hope to signify the support, inclusion and love that this symbol represents -- to the Autism community and beyond.
